A brief interview to Xenia Kessler, Reptile masts international teamrider.

RP: Hey congratulations how does it feel, I guess that this is your 3rd time correct me if I am wrong?

XK: I am super happy to be able to take the Danish Freestyle title for the second year in a row. This year was a bit different however, as I had to face the Men of the b-class instead of the women. But it was super cool to compete against the men, and I was happy to sail well enough to take the title.

RP: How did you prepare for the events and how many events did you attend?

XK: This year I have been travelling alot. My winter I spent in Jericoacoara and Bonaire, training a lot. Then I went to Turkey to prepare for my debut on the PWA World Tour which I attended on Lanzarote 2009. After Lanzarote I went training in Tenerife and then finally back to Denmark to jump right into the wetsuit and pull off the new tricks in the cool waters. So I prepared for my events by training a lot on different spots, this year. I attended only 3 competitions this year, one international and two national and did camps and events in between. Next season I plan to attend much more competitions.

RP: 3 answers: You could not have done it without?

XK : My friends & family, my sponsors and a smile on my face J

RP : Did you have to face any strong opponents if yes than who and why ?

XK : I see all my opponents as strong. I know the guys in the b-class on the Danish tour are good, and off course I wanted to do my best on the water. I think you should always have big respect for your opponents, and no matter what go out and do your best.

RP : What’s next on your calendar ?

XK : Winter training J I plan to go to the Caribics to practice during the winter, and in the coming season I plan to attend the PWA Freestyle Events. In Denmark I am now qualified for the A-class in freestyle, so I have to face some of the Danish guys who are also competing on the World Tour at home next season too… I guess surf’s up J

RP : Any special goals for the upcoming season?

XK : I would like to do the whole PWA Freestyle tour in 2010. I am still excited to the spots and dates are released. I have more specific goals, but I like to keep them for myself until they are full filled J

RP : Which Mast did you use the most ?

XK: I used my Phython 100% 370 the most. Sweet sweet mast! I like it a lot, so light and content.
